Case 2:

Patient presented with missing temporary crowns on #21 and #32. These teeth were prepared for abutment crowns to hold a lower removable partial denture. I first re-prepared the teeth and fabricated temporary crowns while the lab and I were working on designing the abutment crowns. A PFM crown was placed on #21 and gold crown on #32. Next, I refined the rest preparations and fabricated a lower removable partial denture. There were many challenges in this case. The mesial tipping of #32 added an additional challenge in both fixed and removable prosthesis fabrication. In addition, the lack of occlusal stops caused a challenge when mounting this case. After a close working relationship with prosthadontists and lab technitions, we completed the restoration of her lower dentition. My patient was so happy to be able to eat again. Next, we will start on restoring her upper arch.
